Volcanoes and Macadamia Nuts

Volcano Agua during the sunset.

Volcano Agua again.

Last Weekend Travis and I decided to take a trip to the Valhalla Macadamia Nut Plantation. There isn't much to say and we have to get up early tomorrow for a trip to Lake Atitlan, so I'm just going to post some pictures and captions. Enjoy!

The road leading up to the plantation was made out of macadamia nut shells. Creative and sustainable way to make a path!

And they meant it...no taking nuts!

The plantation.

Travis cheated on Cooper and played fetch with this puppy for quite awhile.

Macadamia nut flower. It takes it nine months to make a nut!

More directions...

This was the machine that organized the nuts by size. Different sizes need more or less time to dry. The rods angle out as it goes down and the nuts fall through into bags.

This machine pulled the outer covering off the nut.

Full of macadamia!

Poinsettia plant

Close up. These are ALL over Guatemala!

The prettiest bathroom I have ever seen. Haha

Again...

That evening we went to Quesos y Vinos...where we had our farewell dinner when we were here last may. This is the Arch on our way!

Trav and I.

The arch again.

Another day when Volcano Fire was...smoking a little! Pretty thing to see.
Sorry this is a short one...but you know what they say...pictures are worth a thousand words!

Until next time,

Kaycie and Travis
